3 Reasons to Have your HDTV Professionally Mounted
published onFebruary 18, 2011

You’ve got your new HDTV and you’re excited to get it out of the box, plug in the cables and start watching your favorite TV show and movies in gorgeous, 1080p high definition, larger than you’ve seen them before. But wait.
You’re forgetting something very important … having your HDTV professionally mounted, safely. Here are three good reasons to call professional home theatre installation experts to professional mount and set up your new HDTV.

1. Better viewing angles. Audio video home theater professionals will calculate the best viewing angles for your new HDTV based on furniture placement and sightlines. A TV that’s wall-mounted is going to be at more optimal viewing angles than one on a stand.

2. No more fingerprints.
If you have kids, you know what it’s like to spend your life wiping fingerprints off a TV screen. With an HDTV, plain Windex won’t cut it. You’ll need a microfiber cloth and non-alcohol-based screen cleaner. Mount your HDTV out of fingers’ reach from the kids and you’ll just need to dust occasionally — not clean it 20 times a day.

3. HDTVs on stands can be very unstable. The growing popularity of flat screen LED and Plasma monitors coincides with a 41% increase in children’s injuries serious enough to require an emergency room visit, according to this MSNBC article. Nearly half of all injuries related to furniture falling on children involved flat screen TV sets. HDTVs are more top-heavy than their old tube counterparts, and are often placed (by the television’s owners, not professionals) on stands that may encourage kids to climb. Additionally, HDTVs, along with their Blu-Ray, video game and tuner box components, can create an intricate mess of wires kids may chew, tug or even swing on like Tarzan.
Don’t take chances. Have your HDTV professionally mounted for safety, with wires neatly (and safely) concealed in a wire management system.
