Audio Video Upgrades In Your NY Bar or Restaurant: Is It Time?
published onSeptember 21, 2011

The commercial audio video installation market in hospitality venues is thriving (say the guys who just worked nearly 24/7 for the past three weeks upgrading and installing systems across Staten Island, New York and New Jersey.)

Don’t get me wrong: We wouldn’t change it for the world and we’re proud of the results. Staten Island’s Z-Two, New Jersey’s UPTown, and the new Central Park were just a few of the venues sporting brand new audio video components just in time for NFL Opening Day. (This is the first you’ve heard us mention Central Park, but we’ll be releasing more details soon. In the meantime, check out to see the place.)

So, business is booming. But it’s nice to see a survey conducted by Commercial Integrator shows that the audio video commercial installation market in bars and restaurants is strong all across the country. Here are just some of the statistics CI gathered, related to 2011 projections for the restaurant and bar market segment:

  • 42 percent of audio video integrators surveyed expect their restaurant and bar business to be greater than it was in 2010;
  • 47 percent expect business to be about the same as 2010 in that category
  • Only 11 percent say it looks like restaurant and bar business will be down for 2011

Good to know, but what does it mean to you, New York restaurant, bar and nightclub owners?
It means that close to half of your competitors are either getting new audio video systems or upgrading their existing systems.

It’s All About the Audio Video Experience

Emphasizing the importance of selling service contracts in this industry, CI writer Tom LeBlanc notes, “R&B [is] an industry in which customers can literally walk out the door when they deem their experience subpar…”

Of course, this statement applies to the need for fast, reliable service when your AV systems break down, but it also relates to having the right systems installed in the first place to create that comprehensive, first-class, top-notch atmosphere for customers.

More and more, audio, video and lighting systems are becoming as important as the food and drink offerings in hospitality venues. The advent of digital signage — which not only adds to the atmosphere but can directly impact a bar or restaurant’s ROI — takes audio and video in bars and restaurants to a whole new level.

Whether you need better sound, streamlined video with an LED HDTV upgrade, or over-the-top digital signage systems to reach out to your customers for less money than other marketing methods, JD Systems can help.

This is New York, the city that never sleeps. If you’re a bar or restaurant owner, you don’t want to get left behind when it comes to the technology in your venue.
