JD Systems Comments on Sports Bar & Nightclub Audiovisual Trends

Industry insider Jonathan Joyce shares tips in Systems Contractor News.

Call it a hat trick. New York-based audiovisual integrator JD Systems has been feature in three major audiovisual industry publications over the past 12 months.

First, Commercial Integrator spotlighted the systems integrator’s work at the Staten Island sports bar and eatery, Z2.

Then, JD Systems’ work at New Jersey’s Central Park sports bar/restaurant/ultra-lounge graced the cover of Sound & Communications magazine.

Finally, long-time industry reporter Karen Mitchell spoke with JD Systems partner Jonathan Joyce regarding (what else?) trends in audiovisual systems design and installation in sports bars and nightclubs.

The article, titled “With Pleasure,” discusses the state-of-the-art flat screens, zoned audio systems and interactive options appearing in bars and clubs lately. In a down economy, it’s said, nightlife venues tend to do well as people are seeking (relatively) affordable forms of escapism.

Joyce commented that the AV market has seen a mix of new installations and retrofits in the past few years, but even bars that are looking for upgrades rather than entirely new systems tend to go all out. “We’re seeing a 50/50 split in our business between new construction and remodeling projects, which are often close to new construction because of extensive revamping,” Joyce told Systems Contractor News.

The article went on to discuss JD Systems’ audio video installation at Z2, and Joyce shared some of his preferred products for bar and restaurant sound and video systems. Brands mentioned included JBL, BSS Audio and the rest of the Harman family for integrated audio systems that work well together, Knox Video Technologies switchers for their flexibility, ease-of-use and exemplary customer service, and Tightrope Media Systems for digital signage solutions.

JD Systems would like to thank Karen Mitchell and the editorial staff of SCN for giving us the opportunity to share our views and expertise with your readership.
