JD Systems owners Jonathan Joyce and Jak Daragjati recently attended the Almo e4 AV Tour in New York City. The afternoon was a day filled with learning, networking, and an in-depth look at some of the newest audio visual technology from top manufacturers like Samsung, Christie, and Universal Remote.
More than 30 manufacturers attended the expo, and JD Systems has access to products from each, bringing our customers the latest technology to meet the unique needs of your restaurant, nightclub, ultra-lounge and more.
You may be wondering what e4 stands for; how does it relate to audio visual technology? It makes perfect sense once you realize what the letters represent: Educate – Explore – Exchange – Expo. True to its name, the educational aspects of e4 are something we look forward to each year. It gives us an opportunity to receive insight and training from the developers of the products we use — people who understand those products better than anyone else. This insider knowledge helps us specify the best audio visual equipment for any job, and then train you — our customers — in the best, fastest, easiest ways to use the equipment every day to improve your business, entertain and excite your customers and, ultimately, improve your bottom line.
This year, we had the unique chance to attend a seminar on “techorating,” which we’ll talk about more in a future post. The seminar was presented by Alan and Jonathan Brawn of Brawn Consulting, and spotlighted the recent audio video installation at Las Vegas’ Cosmopolitan Hotel. Here, flat screens do much more than just present digital signage content; they become part of the hotel’s head-turning decor, immersing visitors in the ultimate Vegas experience. (It’s one of those projects any integrator would look at and say, “Wish I’d done that.” But it also raises the bar another notch, stretches our creativity, and makes us want to do even better than they did!)
Speaking of stretching our creativity, our minds are still reeling from the possibilities of what we can do with all the new technology we experienced at e4. If the e4 Expo was any indication, next year is going to be an exciting one for the AV industry — and we haven’t even gotten our first peek at the new product launches planned for CES 2012!
