Staten Island’s Z2 Gets Crestron Upgrades and More
published onDecember 12, 2011

It’s been a busy season for us here at JD Systems, with new clients, upgrades to current projects, and constantly staying on top of the latest technology at events like the Almo e4 show.

One of the highlights of the fall was our return trip to Z2. When we installed the audio and video systems in Staten Island’s newest hotspot (covered in Commercial Integrator magazine), we knew we weren’t quite done. As soon as funds became available, the owner called us back in for some additions to the lighting, video and control systems.

In the past month we added:

  • Intelligent lighting, including Chauvet Q-Spot 260s, to the bar area
  • A 70-inch Sharp monitor with a custom frame with LED backlighting
  • A Crestron control system that permits the manager-on-duty or bartender to easily change the source on any monitor in the venue, as well as adjusting volume and EQ for the zoned JBL sound system

We provided programming along with training for the Crestron system and, so far, the client is marveling at its ease of use.

Sports bar and restaurant owners and managers are focused on operations and customer service. They don’t want to have to think about how loud the music should be playing at 6 o’clock in the evening. The Crestron takes care of all of that, and makes it easy to make changes on the fly, too — all with the goal of keeping customers happy.

Although the place looks great (and it has since opening day) we’re sure Z2 isn’t quite done yet. Stay tuned. Or check out our photo gallery for some amazing pictures. Better yet, drop by, grab a drink and check it out for yourself.
